Apple vs. Android

Hello, folks. Long time, blah blah.
I have used an iPhone *ducks flying, rotten tomatoes* for years, but for work I use an Android tablet, which I am getting used to, and beginning to prefer. My latest discovery is the Swype feature, which works pretty well for what I do, but I haven't quite gotten down certain things yet, such as words with the same letter used consecutively.
There are pros and cons associated with each device. I like Apple's spellcheck, although at times it jumps the gun and fixes what isn't broken. I prefer Android's ability to swipe to initialize (which can be done from any point across the screen, and in any direction.) The Apple is still left-to-right, which feels archaic.
Who uses and prefers which device?
Evil Fury Says:
I have no idea what either of those things are. I don't even have any idea what sort of Big Girl phone I have.
Fuck, I don't even know, or care, what kind of car I drive.
Evil Fury Says:
I do know Matt feels very strongly about one of them vs the other, but don't remember which one is which.
Does that help? LOL
Evil Fury Says:
You're right--I just asked him and he said, without hesitation, "Android."
lunamor Says:
LOL I know Matt prefers Android. I prefer whatever is free, which at this point in my life are Apple products. I have nothing to compare it to, though, because I haven't ever used Android stuff.
kittenheel Says:
I have an Android HTC One V that I got in 2012. It has survived being dropped on pavement multiple times, as well as being flung against a tree in a teeny tiny fit of rage one time. I don't even have a case or cover for it. Then again, it may only survive to spite me, so your mileage may vary.
CaptainMando Says:
I've never used an iPhone, but I've always loved my Android phones.
Fritz The Bootlegger Says:
My company supplies me with a free iPhone. Like Luna, I prefer whichever one costs me nothing.
Simon Says:
I think both of Susan’s first two comments deserve COTD, but the second has the edge:
I do know Matt feels very strongly about one of them vs the other, but don’t remember which one is which. Does that help?
H3OsMama Says:
My phone's have always been Android, and I'm pretty happy with them.
rescuebabe Says:
I don't have either, I am still in semi-granny mode with my phone (just upgraded from a flip phone to something like a cosmos). But my techy friend in NYC is always bitching about his IPhone, and my kids & friends with droids love em.
lunamor Says:
I'm not a techy, but I have zero complaints about any of my iPhones (I've had 3).
TwoBit Says:
I'm on my second, but I held on to my Version 3 so long that the 'power off' button stopped working. Eventually, I discovered the Assistive Touch feature, which is designed for ease of choosing features from a screen menu, but that thing never got a proper 'restart' after KCL CON 2, or therabouts.
